Question:

I purchased CAM Wizard and I've been trying make it work on the net with no luck, I've got a lemonsell webcam (Real Digital Life) from Hongkong it works very well, but I could'nt get that to work on the net either. Is it a problem with compatability or is it the camera? I have McAfee virusscan and firewall, and am running on XP. I've read all the help documentation, but can't seem to move forward. I can't even get it to send me a written EMail? What am I doing wrong?

Answer:

If your webcam is showing a picture within camwizard then I suspect that it
is your third party firewall. To debug the problem, you could:

1. close camwizard

2. disable your mcafee firewall

3. enable the standard XP firewall

4. start camwizard

5. press 'unblock' on any xp firewall prompts that come up.

If it works online with the WinXP firewall then you know that the blockage is being caused by your third party firewall not being configured correctly, you can then just stick with the WinXP firewall or go back and try and configure your third party firewall correctly.
