Y Flip (for USA)
Label Wizard was written in the UK,
where it is usual to have the destination
address appear above the senders address. In the USA however, the senders address
usually apears above the destination. Use this tick box to set your preference,
when it's ticked is set for USA.
Print Borders
This tick box enables/disables the printing of label borders. If you are trying
to setup Label Wizard to a new type of label size then it helps alot if you enable
the border printing. Printing the border will allow you to visually check just
where the borders are lying on your printed labels, thus you'll know which way
to tweak the setup, for more info on setting up, see the setting up tips below.

Graphical Logo Bitmap Setup
To enable/disable the logo simply tick/untick the box. In order to change the
logo just press the button [...] in the setup screen and then choose a .bmp file
of your choice. You can use your windows paint package in order to draw a new
.bmp file.
Print logo graphic over the whole
label
This does exactly as it says and
enable you to create labels out of
a single .BMP graphic file. So if
you wanted to create full color labels
for your jars of honey then you just need to design a label in your favourite
paint package (make it full screen or bigger for good resolution) and then save
the label as a .BMP file to some folder on your computer. Now load that .BMP
into Label Wizard as a logo graphic and tick the "Print logo graphic over
the whole label" box.
Now your entire label sheet will
be populated with your new product
labels. The beauty of this system is that
if you want to change the size of
your product labels then you don't
need to redraw them, you just need
to change the label size in the setup
screen.
Label sheet size setup controls
To adjust a control simply left click
and hold the small button [»], this
will allow you to slide an adjuster up or down for the control. These controls
allow you to adjust the size in mm of your label sheet. Notice the three small
buttons on the left labeled "a4", "let" and "leg",
these give you quick size presets
for A4, US Letter ans US Legal paper
sizes. You can of course enter any
sizes you wish using the numeric
inputs.
Label Configuration Controls

setup parameters allowing you to
configure LabelWizard to work with
just about any label size that's
available on an A4 sheet. The row
number indicates how many labels
you get along the length of a sheet.
The column number indicates how many

Save
and Load setup buttons
These buttons allow you to save the current setup or load a previously saved
setup. Data is saved to a .LWP file of the users choice.
For example say you wanted
a special setup file for printing
christmas card address labels. You
would follow these steps:
- Setup Label Wizard for the christmas
card label, use a christmas tree
graphic BMP, maybe a fancy colored
font etc.
- When you're happy with the
setup, press the "Save this setup"
button and save it as "Xmas.lwp"
or something similar.
- Now whenever you need to print
xmas labels, just press the "Load
a setup" button and select "Xmas.lwp".
TOP TIP : You can also doubleclick
a .LWP file from anywhere in windows
and Label Wizard will start up and
configure to it. This means you can
quickly and easily build up a library
of .LWP files for different tasks
and save them all to your desktop
etc. for quick access to all your
different label tasks.
Check
For Newer Application Version
This does exactly what it says,
it checks online to make sure you
have the latest and greatest version.
If you don't have the latest version
then a button appears allowing
you to download the latest version
straight off our website.
OK & Cancel
buttons
Pressing cancel will cause any
adjustments that you make to be
lost, Lable Wizard will go back
to using the settings it was using
before you entered the setup screen.
Pressing OK will cause all the
adjusted controls to take immediate
effect upon Label Wizards setup,
your adjustments will become visible
in the main screen of Label Wizard.
Setting
Up Tips
If you have an old
backing, (the waxy sheet that the labels
come on) then you can print onto it
and then wipe it off later with a damp
cloth, you can use this to keep feeding
through your printer whilst you adjust
the various settings. This will save
you from wasting sheets whilst setting
up.
To adjust a control simply left
click and hold the small button [»],
this will allow you to slide an adjuster
up or down for the control.
Setup steps:
-
Set the size of the whole label sheet by using the "Width (mm)" and "Height (mm)" controls, if your label sheets are a known standard size then press one of the preset buttons like "A4" instead.
-
Set the correct number
of rows and columns for your Label
Sheet:
The row number "Label Rows" indicates how many
labels you get down the length of the page, from top to bottom.
The column number "Label Cols" indicates how
many labels you get across the width
of a sheet, from left to right.
-
Now set the gaps
between the labels in mm:
"Col Spacing (mm)" refers to the horizontal width of the gaps between the label columns on the sheet.
"Row Spacing (mm)" refers to the vertical height of the gaps between the label rows on the sheet.
-
Now set
the 4 different margin sizes.
Although your label sheets may
appear to have top and bottom margins
of the same size, you may have
to set the bottom margin to be
considerably less than it actually
is. This is to compensate for the
unprintable region usually found
at the bottom of the sheet with
most inkjet printers.
-
Now
Print out a whole sheet of
labels with the borders enabled
onto a label sheet. Depending on
the printed output you may need
to make some adjustments:
If the
labels are lined up at the
top, but gradually get more misaligned
as they go down the sheet
then you need to reduce or increase the bottom
margin size.
Basically you
need to adjust the margin
sizes until you manage to 'stretch'
the labels so that they print
perfectly onto the label
sheet.
Once you've performed the setup procedure once
you don't need to bother
again, Label Wizard remembers
all of its settings between uses.

FAQ
(Frequently Asked Questions)
Can
I See What Labels I've printed
in the past?
| Q |
I send out many
different packages everyday,
not every package is recorded,
is their any way that I can
find out if I've created a
label for a certain address,
this would let me know if I
hadn't packed/posted an item? |
| A |
YES, you can do this with
LabelWizard, simply press
the Browse
Printed button. |
Can
I print product labels with Label Wizard ?
| Q |
Hi, I run a small
online shop and I sell various
natural honey products, i would
like to be able to make professional
labels for my honey jars, will
Label Wizard enable me to do
this? |
| A |
Yes, you need to "Print
logo graphic over the whole
label". |
Font
Size?
| Q |
In the setup
screen how do you make the font
size bigger? When I change
the texts size to 14 in sender
1 form it aways prints out
at 10 how do you make it print
out at 14? |
| A |
You can't actually change
the font size. I should really
remove the size selector
out of the font selector,
it's just there, the program
doesn't look at it!
Label Wizard automatically
uses the biggest text size
that it can get away with,
so if you've got an address
with a lot of text on one
line, the text size will
have to be smaller in order
to prevent over the edge
printing. This automatic
behaviour ensures that every
label is as human friendly
and readable as possible.
One method that I've found
useful to make text smaller
is to add spaces or enters,
this fools Label Wizard into
thinking that the line is
longer than it actually is
and it will reduce the text
size. I used this technique
on my Sender1 text, I enter
this string "Sender» " and
Label Wizard accomodates
the spaces as well as the
text and thus reduces the
font size of the Sender1
text. |
Operating
System Compatability?
| Q |
Is this trial
download program compatible
with Win ME? Reason
I ask is because I have downloaded
it twice now and each time
I go to set up or print or
whatever... the screen locks
up the program semi crashes
and I have to hit 'end task
' . I would dearly love to
buy this but if this is going
to happen on the unlocked version
I am very reluctant. Can you
offer any advice please? |
| A |
Label Wizard Pro. is
ONLY compatible with Windows
NT, Windows 2000 and Windows
XP.
We haven't tested Label Wizard on Windows 95, 98 or ME.
If the trial version won't
work then the registered
version won't work either.
Windows ME is Win 98 with
extra bits, so it probably
won't work on that either.
Sorry about this, but that
is why we made it try before
you buy.
I can only suggest holding
a copy of it or visiting
our website and installing
it if you ever upgrade your
operating sysytem to WinXP
or Win2000. |
